long train commute cut costs?

Options
Im going to be commuting via train for the next few months.

Milton keynes to Birmingham, every week day, in peak time for work. Im in FT employment (not self employed)

man in New street ticket booth says its will cost me £350 per month for a season ticket.

Any ideas if there is a way to reduce this cost? discounts/tax breaks/anything!! Virgin trains are the train company.

Thanks

Yes - don't travel Virgin. If you travel Central Trains/Silverlink (or whatever they are called now - London Midland I think) via Northampton then you can save nearly £100 on that fare. Takes a bit longer though.
