DIY HIP - worried about land search

Not in Scotland they're not!!!
God, I'm still spitting, and okay in some parts of Scotland they seem to be reasonable and somewhere around the English level. But where I am the cost comes in at between £700-£800. It's bluddy ridiculous.
I appreciate that in the more remote regions surveyors have to travel but for heavens sake, the starting price in some areas is by at least £200 more than in a city and then you get charged for everything on top.
Anybody out there from Scotland's outer isles or highlands that has found an affordable solution to this problem?0 -
Hi,
I am trying to compile my own HIPs. The only thing I am stuck on is the CON29R local authority search. My council is charging £240 for this and it seems a bit excessive given I can pay a HIPs company for the full package. Am I able to get CON29R from elsewhere for cheaper? Or if I go through personal search, which documents do I need?
Thanks for your help in advance0
