Computer hackers????

If a computer was being hacked would the owner be aware and if so what are the signs to look for??????

    its very unlikely. make sure windows firewall is on, run AVG, antispyware, etc see what turns up

    If you have a firewall as pgilc1 says then yes very unlikely. You're more likely to be victim to spyware/keylogger and/or virus. So long as you have adequate security (more than enough info on this board and in Martin's article) then you should be fine. If it's something like a keylogger then you'd not notice any symptoms unless some security scans picked it up or you suddenly found your bank/email/website accounts had been interfered with.

    black hats have much better things to do with there time(1), at worst you will have some spyware



    (1) though rest assured if they really wanted in they colud do it which is why its best to not leave sensative info on it un encripted
