To be honest went with siblu to spain (so they don't own the parks, just have vans there) they were by far the scrappiest looking vans on the place, nothing was as advertised in the brochure and to be honest after a 3 month battle with them they refunded the full cost of my holiday. To be fair to them they do stress some items are only available in their own parks- mostly french ones, but the old adage you pay peanuts get monkeys covers this company well- I think I would pay the slight extra and go with keycamps or eurocamps. but other peoples opinions may be different.
I think there is a website called holiday watchdog or just type siblu reviews into google and see what you get. wish I had before I went would have saved me a lot of hassle.

My tip.......save up Tesco clubcard deals and go for next to nothing!

Our family of five are having a week in Paris over the school Easter holidays and it's costing us £107 for the best accomodation including ferry.

The rest was paid with clubcard vouchers.

I've been caravanning many a time and am a little bit OCD if I'm brutally honest.......I've been to 2 Siblu parks before and I can't fault them......they are clean, friendly and family orientated.

Don't know the park but don't worry about going to France with young children. Get a European health card, take a couple of photocopies of it with you, additional insurance not essential as emergencies will be free, other treatment you may have to pay for but you will get about 70% back at the local CPAM. If you can get a Nationwide flex account you can get cash and make purchases without transaction fees.
To phone home go to a Tabac and buy an international phone card the calls cost a few pence a minute in the evenings.
All the usual things for the young are available about the same price as here. Watch your bagage weight if flying on cheap airlines they charge a fortune if you are over.
    Have fun, happy money saving.

  • For August yes but if you are bound to the summer holiday period check out the last week in August.

We are off to a camp (not Siblu) on the 24th because the costs are almost half compared to the week before yet it is still in the UK school holidays :-) Siblu, Keycamp and Eurocamp are all a LOT cheaper from about the 22nd of August or the 24th of August.
  • Hi, try looking at the Yelloh site - we have just booked direct with them for the last week in August and it is costing about £200. We are staying 6 nights in Brittany and 3 nights in Normandy as we want to see the D Day beaches. We have booked the ferry through LD Lines and that is costing us £212 (but includes overnight cabin). Should point out that LD Lines go from Portsmouth so might not be convenient for everyone.

We are going to the Camping Village La Plage in Brittany. We were there about 4 years ago and really enjoyed the site. It has direct access onto the most wonderful beach, very safe for children and the water is so clear. There is also a well stocked mini-supermarket on site which was quite reasonable and there was a take-away place that makes the most wonderful crepes.

We are going to La Plage this year too! It will be our third year there. It is a wonderful place - the beach is amazing. And you must try the seafood linguine in the on-site restaurant. We too are going with Yelloh! We've been with them for six years now - they are much cheaper than the other companies (although the prices no longer include a ferry crossing).

What we're doing is paying for 10 days in the Vendee with our Tesco CC Deals, and we've booked ferry crossings 21 days apart. We've booked the other 10 days with Yelloh! direct at Le Guilvinec. So the whole three weeks have cost us around £900 for 5 people.

You will have a fantastic time there. It is a fabulous place.
