No Charge ATM's in Florida?

Martin mentions in his article on which plastic to use abroad that some banks charge a withdrawal fee particularly in the US. So even with Nationwide cards there is still a chance of a charge.

Does anyone know which one's don't charge a fee.

Not specifically but you're more likely to get charged by ATM's in public places (garages, stores, etc.) rather then those in banks, but should they not advise you first? Like they do in the this country?

Hi there - we got a nationwide card for going to orlando last Oct - re the advice on this forum and we weren't charged for using it - we took money out a few times but mainly just used it as a debit/credit card (everywhere takes it) and were never charged anything - think it's just like this country - some banks will charge but will tell you. Also, remember that travellers cheques are much easier to use over there - they don't even ask for ID - just take them as cash.

We've used our Nationwide Current Account card a lot in the USA over the past 3 years. We've never been charged for making a withdrawal from an ATM at Kmart or Walmart.

Washington Mutual bank do not charge and they are pretty common over there

I used my NW card everywhere, but the ones that do charge, will tell you that they are about to charge $2 or something, so you can then make your mind up whether to use it or not

    Have a good holiday !!

Well providing we are not hit with hurricanes we will be ok. We were there last year and I am pretty sure we didn't get charged for withdrawing cash. Re Travellers Cheques its correct they take them like cash I had them when I first went to live over there but nowadays I only ever use my Nationwide card abroad. Load the account up with cash but mainly use the cc for restaurants etc

Ooh can't wait only another 17 days then three hopefully glorious weeks of sunshine. We have even got a treat to come back to because I booked tickets for Chitty yesterday, haven't told the kids yet as its a surprise.

The ATMs outside and inside the Disney parks didn't charge in Feb/March this year. The one inside Costco did, although it was only a £1.
