Fly from Gatwick, Land Heathrow. Park car??

Hi,

Been racking my brains on this one for a while, flying with Virgin from Gatwick to Vegas, but back from LA to Heathrow!! I'm using twilight check in at Gatwick. What have other people done, open to suggestions. Rather have the car at Heathrow ready for my return.

Thanks in advance.

  • A few years ago we did a trip to Montreal, Canada for New Year. We departed from Heathrow but returned to Gatwick (via Dallas!). We parked at Heathrow and then got the FlightLink(?) bus from Gatwick back to Heathrow upon our return. I can't remember how much it was, I'm afraid.

Forget about your own car and simply arrange one way car rental from home to airport then again from airport to home. I've been doing it for years and it is a very cost effective way of getting to/from airport without having to pay parking charges - even factoring in the cost of delivery to your home or collection from home on return journey.

Take the National Express coach between the airports

Why not use a taxi and leave your car at home?

If you want cheap BTW and aren't too concerned about how long it's takes then book a National Express coach to Victoria then book a separate coach to Gatwick which is a lot cheaper than the direct service

As for taxi - don't do that, look up "car service" as they are a lot cheaper than a taxi would be
