Indemnity insurance

Can someone please explain what this is?
We are currently purchasing a house, which it was thought had a shared driveway to the side, although this is unclear now because it doesnt state in the deeds that it is shared - and thought of as being "our" land when we eventually complete.
Our solicitor has said that the vendors may need to take out indemnity insurance - I have googled it, but it is mainly coming up with corporate type details.
Any info at all would be grateful.

Hi,
Defective Title is what is required. The vendor's Solicitor will normally arrange this for them.
