Taking redundancy - advice please

Options
I'm about to take voluntary redundancy from my job. Although I have interviews lined up I am not guaranteed to be walking straight into another job. So can anyone advise on what I can be claiming in the short term (if anything) and what this would do to things like tax credits.

As a bit of background I am separated, living alone in house I own (with mortgage), have 3 children I pay maintenance for - though on a private agreement (not through CSA).
:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D

depends on the amount you recieve.
as your not sick, carer or lone parent u have no entitlement to income support (IS) so claim job seekers allowence (JSA), which will keep your NI contributions up to date. same rules apply to savings for both. you can have £6000 in savings & not affect your weekly entitlement but you will lose £1 of your entitlement for every £250 above the £6000 up to £16000 when you would be disallowed

    hope this helps

If your claim for JSA is accepted and you have enough recent NI contribtions you would receive contributions based JSA for up to six months and it would not matter how much you have in savings.
