Advise on outlook please?

Hi, have just been on another board and tried to report 'spam' I have been advised by another member that if I clicked on the red triangle, 'outlook' would open and just press send, but when I clicked on the red trianlgle nothing seemed to happen. Any advice would be appreciated, preferably in very basic idiot proof language!!! Kelly.

What program do you use to send and receive email .... Outlook? Or something else.

I use msn hotmail for my emails, not even sure if I have outlook on my computor?

Just checked on my programs list and outlook express is there, sorry am a complete dunce when it comes to the workings of a computor!

If you don't have a mail program configured on your computer, and instead use a web based mail application like hotmail, the link won't work correctly.

Right click the red triangle and copy the link, which has the address of who to contact and the post to report, and compose a mail message manually.:

depending on what browser you use, you might be able to get a plugin that'll let you use mailto: links like the ones you're talking about, but instead of opening your mail client, it'll open hotmail.

There are standalone apps that will intercept mailto links as well i believe.

Another solution would be to set up a send-only account in outlook express using your isp's smtp server.

Thank you, think I will have to use the right click as the other suggestions may as well be in dutch! I really have to try and learn more!!
