When Does Tax Credits Stop When Child Starts University

Could someone please tell me when a child starts university in October when would child tax credits stop being paid.

Hi thanks for your reply,s the only reason i was asking is because i notified them that my daughter was starting uni and i am still getting it. I will have to let them know.

It should stop either the 31st August straight after their 16th birthday or if they stayed on longer in full time education it would be the exact date they left the previous educational establishment.0
