Never heard of them. Hanover - in Germany?

  • I've heard of Care and Repair.

My late MIL had a shower and cubicle installed and her roof repaired through them. She had the shower for free and I think just had to pay a bit towards the roof. She was pleased with the results.

This was a good few years ago now.

And I assume Hanover is a Housing Association?

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Very many thanks for the responses. I believe Hanover group is a voluntary group, who apart from getting homes repaired for the over sixties, help them in many other ways.
I just wondered if someone has used them recently.

I think Sebastian is referring to the Housing Association that SDW mentioned.

We're in the process of having alterations done to my parents' bathroom through Care and Repair. So far - very professional, very straightforward, very helpful.

My friends had work done on their house a few years ago through C&R and it all went very well and the alterations made a big difference to their lives.

Many thanks for such reassuring words. I think once one has had some bad experiences then there is a need to become suspicious of every one. I will call on Monday and will report on my experiences afterwards.
    kind regards
