Acer Aspire Laptop Wireless problem

I was just wondering if anyone could help, or has had a similar experience. I have an Acer 1642Z laptop. Everytime I switch it on I have to go to the green bar an the bottom to launch the management icon to switch the wireless facility on. This happened a couple of months ago and Acer said to re-format to see if this fixes the problem. It did, but it is happening again. Does anyone know what is causing this, or how it can be fixed without re-formatting? It is trivial, but when you have to do it everytime you switch the laptop on it becomes annoying. For your info I have Mcafee SecurityCentre protection.

Acer laptops have their own power management software installed by default.
e-power or similar I believe it is called.
Have a look in the settings, it will tell you the current default settings. It is logical that the Wireless is set to disabled.0
