Hi Guys & Girls,

Does anybody know if any of the following credit cards offer free travel insurance when using them to book a holiday?

Platinum American Express
Platinum Visa Citi
MBNA Platinum Liverpool
Lloyds TSB Platinum
Sainsbury Bank Platinum

Many thanks,

Kam

Amex Platinum gives you free Travel Accident Benefit if you loose a limb/hand/sight (upto £150k). All should cover you if the travel co goes out of business, or the plane crashes leading to death.

However I don't think any will cover you if your bags get stolen/damaged, you eat dodgy food & spend your holiday in hospital, someone steals your wallet etc... Barclaycard should be doing that soon.

Most credit cards will give you free travel insurance, BUT it will only cover you if you have an injury while travelling on a medium paid for with that specific card - does that make sense? Sorry it's a bit of a funny area.

In fact most cards give free travel accident insurance that does not substitute usual travel insurance.

Amex Platinum CHARGE CARD does offer free travel insurance, but to join the charge card you need to shell out about £275.
