Done something silly...can I get out of the contract?

in Credit cards
Hi,
I've been a bit silly and applied and got accepted for a credit card which I have since realised has a £60 annual fee.
The card in question is a BMI PLUS Amex card (I fancied getting the free flight deal and noticed that the PLUS BMI card gave away more bonus miles than the regular one which was featured on the Money Saving Expert email).
The card & pin etc hasn't arrived yet so obviously the card hasn't been 'validated'. Can I get out of the contract on this card?
Any advice appreciated,
Squee
PS If Martin's reading this then I PROMISE to read the small print next time!

I'd suggest you just ring them up and ask to swap to the regular one.0

There will be a cooling off period, so just call them and say you've changed your mind.0

Many thanks for all your help,

They will probably send you a credit agreement to sign. If you don't sign it, you don't get the card.Lic.0

Unfortunately Lic I don't think I will be given a credit agreement - I applied online and upon submitting the application form I clicked a box which acts as a 'e-signature'.
I guess I'll wait till I receive the card/pin/any correspondence from them which will have my customer ID on and then contect them asking to cancel or 'downgrade' to the regular Amex.
Cheers again for everyones help,

I think it would be a lot easier if you contacted them now rather than waiting.0
