Yesterday l was refused using lnternet coupons in Poole branch of Tescos, and l had even bought the right items!!!

Used the self check out,but it bleeped and a SA came over, opened up the box and gave them back to me. l explained that l had bought the items relating to the coupons but she said that it was Company Policy to not accept Internet coupons!
As l was made to feel like a criminal l emailed Customer Service and have just had a reply stating that this is now Tescos Company policy!
Does anyone know where they are still accepted please?
  • Has anyone else noticed how Tesco charge different prices for different customers? I went to order two Lindt rabbits for my kids for Easter but on my husband's account they are two for £6 whereas on mine they are two for £5. How do they do this?!! Also with my codes I banked all the codes for £13 but now one has been removed (and I checked them so I know it was there) and replaced for a lower value one that were supposed to be valid for dates in April-curious!

Over past couple days, I've tried over 40 codes from this forum and other web sites (supposedly in date and for Direct purchases) and every code has given me the same response.

Bit annoying really as I am intending to spend a couple hundred quid on Tesco Direct and I can't even get free delivery.
And the nearest Extra is only two mins away but they won't let me collect it.

Just can't understand why they work for other people and not for me?

They get used the maximum number of times, I think. As to the free shipping, one way to cut the cost is find a cheap sim card with free shipping. Everything else is delivered free, too. I did this before and it basically cut the cost of shipping in half.

To bank the codes, do you just fill your basket and enter the code in checkout, but wait until later to check out; or do you need to actual check out right then?

    Yes that's correct.
    .....

  • Think you have to be quick off the mark at spotting the codes.

I used to come on here only now and then and also found codes wouldnt work.

I come on most days now and bank the codes as soon as I spot them. (A big thankyou to everyone that posts these)

I think Tesco maybe only allow a certain amount of usage for each particular code and then stop it from working.

I may be wrong but it works for me and Ive not done an online shop for nearly a year without using some code or another, even if it just covers delivery.
