I need help. Im getting a blue screen everytime I get on my desktop the blue screen appears.
The message says something like IRQL _LESS_OR_EQUAL
Now ive figured out that it may be a conflict problem because everytime i remove my internet modem connection its okay.
When i insert it back in the blue screen comes. Or it will let me connect to the internet for around 15mins before the blue screen comes.
I had disable two of the usb hubs in device manager leaving just the one for my internet connection thinking it may solve the problem but it hasnt.
Can anyone suggest anything?

You may need a powered USB hub to use your USB modem. Get yourself a router - much better! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

What make and model of modem is it and also is the stop error that comes up on the BSOD 0x0000000A? oh and one more thing what version of windows are you using?
Stop errors related ro hardware conflicts can be the symptoms of deeper problems with your computer so it is a good idea to get it sorted!0 -
Sounds like a bad driver. I've had similar problems before, with drivers for cheapy hardware from Hong Kong. Think of the most recent new thing you installed, scour the net for an alternative / upgraded driver, and if that doesn't work you may have to do without...Russia is HERE0

Im using windows xp and my modem is from NTL. Im using a USB and I phoned them up and they suggest i use an ethernet cable. will try that. Im not at home at the moment so not sure about the BSOD.
I havent installled anything recently apart from a java update and probably quicktime.
Really frustrating.0 -
When you get home - try doing a manual windows update select custom not express
When update has finished examining your system, look on the left for any optional hardware drivers. HTH.
But not using usb for networking will help.Rich people save then spend.
Poor people spend then save what's left.0 -

I can't understand why anyone would use USB in preference to Ethernet!
