Gym Membership "cooling off"?

Options
This isn't actually a "vent" yet but couldn't find anywhere else to put it.

On Monday evening I went to a local gym to pick up a friend. Whilst waiting I enquired about membership and made an appointment for a show around the next day. Anyway about 10 mins later the guy said he had time then so he showed me round.

Although I have a bad back and am awaiting an operation I thought a bit of light exercise might do me some good. I did mentined this to the "sales man".

Anyway I joined and paid £62.00 and was due to go to an introductory session yesterday. Prior to this yesterday I was at the doctors and mentioned to him and he said under no circumstances should I be doing any exercise due to the nature of my injury.

I rang the gym and explained this and asked if I could get my money back. The person I spoke to said he would get the Manager to get back to me, so far I haven't heard anything.

I am going to chase it up today and before I wade in gob first I thought I'd find out if there is any kind of cooling off period or do I just have to cut my losses.

Thanks

I would take along a written medical certificate saying you can't do any type of exercise.

There's some strange rule about cooling off periods not applying if you sign the documents on site or something, but i'm not sure... i'm sure someone else will know.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
