I am thinking of getting a new DECT cordless home phone and notice quite a few are SMS compatible.

BT Option2 offers 100 free texts per month but I find 1899 cheaper for calls and they are now doing cheap texts via the internet.

Is it worth paying a bit extra for a DECT phone with SMS?

  • Why not save some money by.

    1. Using sister company www.18185.co.uk who are cheaper then 1899 overall eg mobile calls, and also offer cheap 1p texts from your pc.

    2. Revert to BT Option 1 and use Primus Saver 2 for FREE Evening and Weekend Calls. http://www.planet-talk.co.uk/SaverProducts.aspx?source=saver

BT will give you 50 FREE texts from your PC whatever option you are on.

With an SMS enabled phone at least any any incoming SMS will be displayed as a text on the phone and not a voice text.

I have SMS enabled phone, but don't use them for sending, and rarely receive on them.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
