i dont have a cold wash on my machine but i was wondering if I could just switch off the hot fill tap under the sink you know the one that is red.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)

Result - very disappointing I used liquid detergent and white vinegar. No vinegar smells but under arms of tee shirts still smelt sweaty so I washed the lot again at 40.:(
I wonder if it would be worth trying again with half liquid and half washing soda? So far I haven't done a 'normal' wash, of clothes, but will in the next couple of days so will report back.0 -
To kill bed mites put pillows or bedding in the deep freeze for a time then you will not need to hot wash to kill them.:T
I'll have to continue to wash them as usual.

Did my first cold wash yesterday, was only clothes that weren't really dirty. Used half a powder tablet and a bit of fabric conditioner and all came out smelling fine. Put on line and dried as well, did wonder if they would take longer being cold but was lovely day yesterday so was fine.
So, so far so good :j Don't think will be great with DH oily work clothes but every load I do on cold is a little bit more saved, even if it's only once or twice a week. There is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion0 -
Did my first clothes wash on cold yesterday. Used half dose of liquid, half washing soda; half dose fab cond & half vinegar.
Success, it's all fine. The bottoms of some pale trainer socks are not exactly spotless but a) who'd look? and b) they'd probably be just the same at 40deg.
So, have now done everything except towels (which I'll still do at 60 with powder & soda as a maintenance wash) - nothing very dirty, but quite happy with all of it.
No idea how much money's involved but I'm just chuffed:T0 -

I can't seem to get OH's polo shirts clean at what ever temperature I use. Ironing brings up the grease patterns.
Not happy with any washing really. Help!Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Just a quick note, don't use a cold wash with Persil Gel Tablets  They do not desolve at 30 degress.
I've just emptied my machine, or tried to, I might as well have tipped washing powder all over the kitchen floor:eek:
