dishwasher troubles...

Options
We are "trying" to identify what the problem is with our dishwasher. It is not very old, but we have no warranty and having just moved, really want to avoid call-out from dishwasher-man.

Basically, the water doesnt seem to be getting hot. Everything else is fine, but obviously dishes are not cleaning properly and tablet doesnt dissolve etc.

I looked up the problem on web, and it looked like it may be the element, which we ordered and replaced.
But still no hot water.

Any ideas? Before we get a man out.

Incidentally, Im sure that we have always plumbed it into the cold pipe (in our old house) and some sites say it is best to plumb into hot tap. any suggestions? When I think about it, its never been very "steamy" compared to other ones we have had....

I know this is stupid and it would be a whole lot easier to just phone up a repair man, but its turned into a matter of pride now for DH!!!!

thanks loads
