Help with a cheap flight to Tenerife

I am struggling to find a flight to Tenerife on a budget. I am looking to leave on Friday 8th Feb (after midday) or Saturday 9th Feb, and returning on Friday 15th Feb. I can fly from Birmingham, Manchester, or East Midlands or Liverpool at a push.

The cheapest I have found is with Jet2 outbound from Manchester leaving at 1300 on Friday 8th, for £49.99. Return prices are a lot more, I think the cheapest is £138 to Manchester, with various times with Thomas Cook at around 1400-1500 in the afternoon.

Can anyone help me with any discount codes, or find me a cheaper flight?

Thanks all

(ps - not sure if this should be on the beat my quote thread, as it is only for a flight. Feel free to move if needed).

  • You might find the flights are pricier because it is half term that week (at least it is round here).

  • I have just checked the Jet2 site and this flight has gone for 8th. Would it be cheaper to go the next day, or get a cheap package deal and not use the accommodation?

The Jet2 flight from Manchester at £49.99 is still there, just been looking at their site.

The charter airlines tend to fly to Tenerife on Tuesdays and Fridays, some of the low cost airline fly more frequently. Given that it's half term unlikely that you will get a package cheaper than a flight only price

Prices are really high due to half term not any bargains around

I had a look at Ryanair there wasn't a flight on the 8th and on the 9th it was about £140 one way

Have you tried www.skyscanner.net Prices aren't that cheap but you can check one way flights to and from all UK airports. Cheapest outbound one way is the Jet2 flight from Manchester, cheapest inbound one way is to Bristol I'm afraid

Thanks, that was what I was looking at! I am trying to get the flight booked for Jet2 and then the train fair is only £15 pp (two of us travelling), and then look for the return.

I am on dial-up so everything takes so long - by the time I have gone through the registration the flights will probably have gone knowing my luck!

Doing it that way is probably your best option, then you will at least get a cheap flight one way! Hope you get something sorted

  • I have booked the Manchester flight with Jet2, so all I need now is to be able to get home on 15th!!

Is there any other sites I can try apart from skyscanner, that do one way flights back into the UK?

Otherwise, I will be looking to book the Bristol flight for £62 and getting the train back home - no big deal.

Thanks for all your help

You are welcome. Had a look at a couple of other sites that do one way flights, Avro, Thomsonfly, Thomas Cook, the Bristol one is the cheapest by a long way. Maybe you should book that one before the price goes up!
