Limewire/ CD burning question

I burned some music files from limewire onto CD from my previous PC. My PC's hard drive was affected and eventually I bought a new laptop vowing never to use Limewire again. I have the music on CD - can I burn this music onto my new computer without fear of transmitting any virus on? Basically do viruses only affect the hard drive they are downloaded onto and not the subsequent CD and then any PC's music is burnt onto from the CD?
Thanks

You may want to read the forum rules about absolutely no discussion related to those sites (p2p) at all. Viruses can be transmitted on any recordable medium."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
