HELP!!BUY IT NOW SCAM ON EBAY

oh my gosh i have listed my nokia 7600 on ebay twice now on the buy it now and twice i have had to relist it due to foreign people buying it now and not paying and then when i go to send them invoice ebay informs me that the checkout has been blocked, obviously cos they clicked on that the folk were scammers. the first was from singapore and second from netherlands. i stated only uk buyers so was a bit annoyed when they bought it now, their addresses etc dont check out and both had zero feedback and registered today.

ebay have not got back to me yet and as far as i can tell no money has been put into my paypal account, although reading through the posts i am a bit worried as it seems they can pout money in adn take money out and all sorts.

would i be better off listing it AGAIN >:( and just not doing a buy it now this time cos thats been twice tonight ive done this ???

selling mobile phones on ebay is a frustrating past time, they attract more than their fair share of scammers.

If you get a bidder that doesn't fulfil your auction terms, then start a claim for your final value fees on that basis. As soon as you have started the claim you can relist. However, you should be aware that after each sale the buyer, whether a scammer or not, is able to leave you feedback. Also If you don't claim your FVFs then you will be running up a large bill with ebay which you will have to pay, so don't forget to go through the process correctly.

Although it is possible to get your FVFs back I don't think you can get your listing fees back so each attempt at selling will be costing you money. Keep an eye on your invoice which can be located from the 'my account' menu on the left hand margin of your ebay page.

If the buyers haven't put any money into your paypal account then they can't take any out, so don't worry about that.

Ebay and paypal are perfectly safe if you use them with care and keep your wits about you. You are unlikely to get scammed if you stick to your auction terms and conditions, don't let anyone persuade you to alter your terms and conditions if it makes you feel vulnerable.

Unfortunately you can't stop people bidding fraudulently on your auctions, what you can stop is falling for the scams. You were right not to accept a Western Union payment, they are fraught with danger. Stick to paypal.

As for starting a claim for FVF log into your ebay account. On the left hand side of the page there is a margin with options, towards the bottom of the page under related links click on 'report an unpaid item dispute' and follow through the instructions. It does say you cannot report a buyer for non payment until 7 days has elapsed, but for some items this 7 day wait has been waived.

You must report each and every winner to get your FVFs back, if you don't you will pay both your FVFs and your listing fees each time.

Also, if a buyer has incorrect or false contact information report them to ebay (go through the help menu as there is a direct link for reporting this) as that will get their account pulled which makes it easier for you to get your FVF back.

    Hope this helps a bit
