I'm soon to get fitted 4 new pre primed white internal doors, with 4 panels
I have asked a P&D for a price to undercoat and gloss all 4 doors and he has quoted £120 for them all
Could do it myself but want a "pro" finish, i know i wouldnt be able
Anyone any ideas if this is a fair price or not, im in the surrey area
cheers

sounds reasonable to meI`m now officially too old to die young0

Any tradesman worth his salt will be charging at least £200 per day at the moment and I`d assume this would take at least a day bearing in mind it can`t all be done at onceI`m now officially too old to die young0

thanks, i actually work with him, and he is a "retired" P&D, so thought it was resonable0

Even though they are pre-primed, you still need to undercoat at least twice,(I would UC twice) then one coat of gloss, in between theres the light sanding down, so if you work out his time, travelling to you.
TBH, and I am being generous here, but say the four doors, one coat per day, at the most takes him 2 hours, add that up, six hours, dont forget his travelling.
I think its a reasonable price.:D0 -
£120 sounds very reasonable for a pro finish. I'd go for it. I assume that is on top of the paint too?Hoping this year is better than the last.0

thanks, yes i presume i would have to buy the paint too0

Some painters supply the paint in with the price, I do, as I only use Dulux, that way I know for sure that there is good quality paint going on the doors, plus on a smallish job like this, its best I supply the paint as I carry all the UC and gloss etc anyway, wheras,if the client buys it he only uses enough for the doors, and then is stuck with different cans in thier shed.0
