please please help?

i promised 16 yr old son a sweater for christmas and although have bought the aran wool have still not found a pattern. have searched all the free knitting websites but just cant find one. have now told him will have it made by his 17th which is on 2 march can someone please help and lead me to a basic sweater free please!!!!!!!!

    I'm sure there was a poster on the kntting thread that was after a pattern for her son, I think she did find one, but wanted to alter the neck a bit.

    just a thought but how did you know how much aran to buy without a pattern? It might take more (or less) than you think? Have you googled for a pattern? I'll have a look, what size you thinking of knitting?

    thanks, when buying clothes for him i buy a mans small i also have a problem of whatever i knit always turns out bigger when completed so guess was looking at maybe 32"
