Sky!!!

Options
Hi,

I'm having the mother of all nightmares with Sky TV. In my local town a couple of weeks ago a sky van was there offering people Sky+ for £49.00. The van was closing for the day and i asked the sales rep about it, she said if I rang the usual customer helpline number they would honour the offer. A week later I rang them and spoke to a sales rep who said that it wouldn't be a problem and that he needed to put me through to Customer Services! Customer Services said that they wouldn't be able to do that but that Sales could help (you can see where this is going can't you)!

I asked the adviser to let me speak to his manager - I was very polite and said that I understood that it wasn't his fault. The Customer Service Manager told me that I needed to speak to Customer Complaints and said that I had every right to complain - she gave me a number and said that they were open office hours.

The next day I rang the number and was told that I'd gone through to programming and that I needed to contact the customer helpline - then got put BACK through to sales etc etc.

I email Customer Complaints who told me that the offer was not longer available and that I could have it for the usual price of £149! I also emailed the "customer reaction" department who said that they wouldn't be able to help me either.

Where do I stand with consumer rights? Not only was I misled by the member of staff on the van but also by the first person that I made contact with. I know that I'm not entirely blameless cos I didn't get names etc but I have advised them to listen to the recording of my telephone conversations!

Sorry its lengthy but it's certainly helped to get it off my chest. AAARRRRGGGGHHHH
