you need to go to the folders on your daughters PC and then "Right click" and hold down that button on your mouse, one of the options is for sharing and security, click on the sharing tab and the options are there on XP...if win98 you need to share each folder etc this way

Here's what I did -

Go to the My Computer folder

Click My Network Places on the left panel
Click on View Workgroup computers on the left panel

You should be able to see connected computers unless one of the firewalls is blocking them - or they're not networked properly

You can right-click a computer and create a shortcut to it on your desktop

or you can click the up-a-directory icon (below favourites menu at the top left) then create a shortcut to the mshome network (if you called it mshome)

or...
Right click My Computer, map network drive, in the 'Folder:' box type in \\daughters computer name\c$ if you can't connect try again and click the 'different username' link and type in \\daughters computer name\administrator and the admin password for her machine.
Then you'll have a new drive added under my computer such as p: (daughters computer name c$) and you'll be at the root of her machine, ie C:. then go into Documents and Settings, her login name, My Documents, and you'll be able to see all her stuff.
The C$ is the admin share that comes on all Windows based machines. If you can't connect to that then it'll probably have XP with SP2 and the Windows firewall active.
