not signed off sick yet.....? HELP

Options
hi guys started a job on monday there and went for the plunge.. full time..

however i am not going to sign off the sick for a week or so incase i cant cope or incase the job is not as it was sold as.((( so far its not))

i filled in p46 as obviously did not tell them that not been working or i would not have got the job...

if job gets better i will go to doctor and get him to backdate my fit to work to my 1st day of employment so i will not be receiving anymore benefit than i should.

will this flag up at dss or anywhere that i started work?

Hi, yes it would, under data-matching, HBMS or other National Insurance number scans. We receive them every week. It is your responsibility as a claimant to notify all relevant departments as soon as you take a job.

Hi Foxy. You wouldn't get into trouble or anything. Just call the DWP when you've got a minute. The main thing is to tell them within 1 month of the job starting which obviously you would have done anyway. The more serious implications would be for the employer, as they can be taken to court for employing someone currently under a sick note (they are not insured if anything happens to you at work). I expect they would still pay you though. Once I walked out on a job after 2 days and still got paid!! If you get HB and CTB they would just need to see the wage slip when you get it and benefits would be adjusted accordingly. Hope this helps. If you need any more advice let me know.
