Hello
I'm going to Marina D'Or/Oropesa Del Mar (Nr Valencia) at the beginning of June.
Has anyone ever been to this resort or known people who have?
I'm just looking for inspiration on things to do, places to eat etc as I cannot find much on the intenet!
Thanks

Hi, I actually have an apartment there. If you look on http://www.marinador.com/news-spains-minister-of-public-administration-presetnes-an-award-for-the-valencian-communitys-best-project-to-marina-dor-golf
and then click on the webcam logo you can actually see the resort 24hrs/day. As for the resort it is essentially a new high class Spanish resort so it is not a Benidorm (niot that I have anything against Benidorm). It is still being developed although most of the building at the sea front is now complete and as you probably know it has the largest spa in Europe and in a few years it will be the Las Vegas come Disneyworld of Spain if not Europe.
As for things to do in addition to the Spa which you must visit, there are bars and a lot of good reasonably priced restaurants, Irish bar, childrens play area's, a good sea front with nice walks and a concert area. If you fancy a good walk ( 1hr or catch a bus) you can walk along the sea front to Oropesa which is a small spanish town with shops, restaurants and a beach which is excellent and in a large cove surrounded by good restaurants and shops.
You can catch a train from Oropesa to Valencia or Barcelona & Madrid if you fancy exploring but to be honest if it is your first visit you will find plenty to do within the resort and in Oropesa. Have a great time. Resort is approx 1 hour from Valencia airport but they are building a new airport that will be open next year hopefully.
Have a great holiday.0 -
