ok gonna book a short trip to prague for end of this month for me and hubby----without the brats!!!:p (no it is not a dirty weekend!!!!!;))

anyway never been there before. what is the best currency to take korona's or euro's?

and the best exchange rates

Why would you take Euro? Just get some Czech koruna when you arrive - if any of your friends have coins then get them to give them to you as the bus into town takes only coins

Czech Republic does not use the Euro, so that would be like taking sterling, only worse!

If you do a forum search on 'Prague' there are lots of previous threads on this, or similar.

To summarise

1) Best rates for currency seem to be Travelex (online rather than branch) and they have outlets at most airports where you can collect (check opening times) your online order (24 hrs min notice).

2) Best rates for debit/credit card transactions, or for ATM withdrawal in the country itself seem to be offered by Nationwide.
