A&L Premier current account question???

I am looking at opening an A&L premier current account:
for two reasons mainly a) the £50 sign up from quid co, and b) the linked 12% regular saver.
It states that you have to pay in £500 p/m. Does this have to come in direct via salary. Or can it come from a transfer from my other current account??
Is there any catch to this good deal?? other than the poor interest rate on the current account.
cheers

I have an A&L account and transfer in money from my other current account to it, and that is fine. As long as you have the minimum £500 coming in from somewhere!0
