7.5% fixed for one year
They will now allow anyone with one of these accounts (and anyone who was already a member of Leek on 2 January?) to start another regular saver upon Maturity of the the first account. They have thus sent out a second set of paperwork to out-of-area customers and you may now tick the box in 'Section D' to open a new Regular Saver account (ignoring the reference to where you live)
"I refer to our recent letter regarding maturity of your account. Following representations from any loyal customers, we have reconsidered our decision to limit new accounts to customers in the local area only. I am pleased to advise that we are now able to accept applications for regular saver [sic] from existing customers of the society, irrespective of their location within the U.K"

NEW applicants may only open this account if their permanent residential address is within the four counties of Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire.".....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
For anyone who has a regular saver about to mature: it is possible to take £250 off the maturing funds to invest it in the next r/s. (I checked this with the branch.)
Funds can be transferred via BACS now.Dagobert0 -
One of the best typos I've seen in ages, :rotfl:
"Following representations from any loyal customers,"
I would have thought that a comment like that would have been more appropriate if it had originated from Nationwide.
Seriously though, thanks for the info.
