Dear Friends
I wonder whether you can help me....
I have this laptop for 3-4 years.
On a fine morning, when I opened the note book, a broken screw fell out and the frame around the monitor got split!
When I took it to PC World, they told rather than getting this repaired [getting new screen/frame] just leave it as long it lasts. managed to stick it with cello tape and it is still working!
Also I have a problem that when the system get hot.....shuts down automatically. I have been using cool pad etc to keep it going!
I just want to get rid of the laptop.....WHAT IS THE BEST PLACE TO TAKE THIS?
My understanding is even if it is a useless system, they might still be able to use the spare parts [like old mobile phones]The system is with all original contents.
Sorry about the long message, I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP WITH THIS!

Your local amenity centre (rubbish tip) might be able to help.
Don't forget to delete any personal files from the hard drive first. And if it is really personal, get hold of software which will over write the files (even deleted files can be recovered). If it's not going to be used as a computer again, personally I'd try to get the hard drive out and smash it with a hammer."The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0 -

Thanks for your suggestion........
What I really meant was is there any place they take these kind of laptops [like trade-in] and can I make any money out of it?0 -
Damaged laptops for spares/repairs sell not bad on ebay. I sold a Vaio a couple of years back that just wouldn't boot up, got £300 for it!!Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0

Don't forget to security erase the hard disk. If you are in doubt remove the hard disk altogether.0
