Check with your bank, has the money gone into your account?

Also where is he asking you to send it? International telegraphic transfer suggests outwith this country. Posting anything outwith this country should be approached with caution, and if he's asking you to send it to Nigeria then stop right now.

i feel pretty sure that Newcastle, (even if it is near norway), does not require an international telegraphic transfer order?

I would lay good money this is a scam, it sounds like a classic.

Gumtree do seem to be attracting these scammers at the moment, we only had a similar story last week didn't we?

If you get cash then I can't see any problem in sending it anywhere. However if money does appear in your bank account ask the bank whether it is clear or whether it was paid in by cheque. If cheque then hang on until it is fully cleared which for most banks is now 6 days.

I though Citibank was one of the dodgy payment scams? I would not send aything until money in account and cleared.

Slightly off topic, have the banks changed yet to the system that once a cheque has been cleared by them then it can't be reclaimed using the stolen cheque excuse?
