webcam help!

Hi - bought a new webcam today, an "ADVENT - 300K CMOS Slim Webcam" priced £24.99 from Pc World.......and it really isnt very good...used to for msn messenger with my sister and she told me that it kept goin really blurry and wasnt a good pic at all - basically i had to keep REALLY still for her to be able to see me lol......She has a Logitech webcam which she thinks was priced around £29.99 and that had a really good quality pic etc.....

I want to take this webcam back to pc world and swap it as its rubbish lol - oh and plus it doesnt have a built in microphone which the girl in shop assured me it did lol...without getting her into trouble can i simply take it back (still in box etc - as new plus have receipt) and say it not compatible or something with my laptop.....? will they check or just accept it back with receipt and let me swap it for something else??? If so, what is a good one to go for - considering i really dont wanna pay more than £30 (less if poss!)

Help - as u can probably tell i am useless when it comes to techie stuff pmsl!

forgot to say, i have Vista (grrr) and mainly want to use cam for having quick chat with mates, family etc! Just want a fast, good pic and sound lol!

Ps tried to include link for pc world page with this cam but it wouldnt work! THATS how computer illiterate a am!!!!!:confused:
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

When I started with webcams about a month ago, I tried and returned FIVE!.
I said one was not compatible as as in XP, one didn't stand on the shelf firmly, one didn't remain clipped on the screen, two gave blurry pictures.

In fact if you return anything in the condition it was sold, (and I always have the same carrier bags), you can simply say you're not satisfied.

If it is of use, Morrisons are selling a cam with headphones combined, at £9.95 and my daughter bought this and is well satisfied and if I hadn't kept the Tecnica from Tesco, I too would have bought this package.

What you need to be aware of, is a feature called "face tracking", somehow the camera follows your face's every move and stays in focus, so everything else appears blurred till you sit still.

Then you need to be aware of connection speed. You may appear to get flicker pics, not totally smooth running pics. I think this depends on how many people are surfing.
