The Adventure Capitalist comes highly reccomended (not read it myself) if you're after a book by someone that has been a financial success and did something else for a bit.

PJ O'Rourke is brilliant for a bit of Libertarian Right writing. 'Give War a Chance (or The Fight Against Tyranny, Injustice and Low Alcohol Beer)' is a classic. You get a real insight into the end of communism and a good laugh at the same time.

As I said, I'd like to give writing a go but only if I didn't have to worry about earning a living from it. The journalists I know hate what they do - having to churn out junk, half the time writing stuff they don't even understand to a deadline to attract readers to their boss's adverts.

    PS Will try the Naish.

I'm not doing anything productive tonight...Squat Now has returned to the boards.....might have to install a telly aerial after all......when a forum becomes entertainment, it becomes addictive!

Thanks for the book tips...will put them on the list but may have to squeeze a trashy one inbetween.
