I've been sent a written document in docx format. Does anyone know what it is, and can it be converted to word or open office?

This is the new MS Word file that started in word 2007
If you download the compatibility pack from MS you can view the new 2007 files in older versions of office: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941B3470-3AE9-4AEE-8F43-C6BB74CD1466&displaylang=en0 -
Or you can do what I did and set 2007 to save in the older formats, much easier as most haven't switched. I know its not you who saved it, but you could tell the sender.0
