So angry with myself :(

I know exactly how you feel mcrfan - my debts are down to shopping and cost of living ..........but mostly shopping!!! I shop to cheer myself up, sorry used to shop.
I had a real lightbulb moment a few months ago and I have realised that I don't want to spend years paying of things I buy but no longer have!!
I too can make my minimum payments but can't see light at the end of tunnel so I can appreciate how you feel and its always good to have a rant. My cat is fed up with my ranting to her (she is the only one who doesn't offer advice, to loan me money etc)
Right I'm off for more chocolate as that is my other addiction!!:EasterBun0 -
Hi there, I hope that you are starting to feel a bit better. I just wanted to share something that helps me.
My debt is as a result of compulsive shopping.
I haven't allowed myself to get angry at myself for racking up my debts, I chose to build them up (not something everyone has the luxury of I admit freely) and because of that I don't feel I can get angry. I just think of it as a lot of money that I have to pay off (look at my signature - lots and lots of debt.) I took advantage of lots of opportunities that I couldn't have otherwise and had a lot of fun doing it. I know that now it isn't so much fun but basically there was a trade off, then or now, and it might cost me more now but I can't get angry because I got me here and only I can sort it.
This might not reflect everyone's situation but it reflects mine. My shopping might have been compulsive but I can choose (and have chosen) to clear it - my head is in the right place in the right time. I am as obsessive about not wasting money now as I was when I was spending for Britain (who says there is no such thing as an addictive personality).
I hope you see this as a different way to look at a situation and it is in no way a criticism of anyone elses situation, I find that if I look at it as a choice that I made to get in to debt then it makes me feel like I have the choice to sort it.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Don't beat yourself up about it, I've been stupid too!!
If you have an addictive personality, then more than likely you will become addicted to saving, I know I am:p
Sometimes it takes things to get as bad as they can get for us to realise we are in poop!
