So angry with myself :(

I feel so angry with myself for having run up a huge amount of debt....all I can think is that if I hadn't racked up all this debt I would be doing really well, I live with my parents so hardly pay any bills yet still I stupidly spent away on credit cards and now have a huge amount of debt.
I'm also annoyed at the credit card and loan companies for giving me so much credit but I know it is my own fault.
I know there are different types of debts...some people run it up by accident through cost of living etc and then there are people like me who are addicted to shopping and spend recklessly. I just feel that I have been so stupid and I can't quite belive it, it's like someone else was stood there in the shop handing over my credit card...
I'm so annoyed that I am now at the stage where there are things I would like to spend money on, I need a new car mine is a piece of crap - why oh why didn't I buy a car with all this debt that I've run up!!! At least that would have been something useful!
I have given up shopping now I've gone cold turkey it's hard, I actually find myself staring into clothes shops when I walk past!!
I have an addictive personality, I'm also addicted to food at the moment am struggling to lose weight and eating chocolate to cheer myself up. Even more so now that can't buy clothes to cheer me up!
I am struggling this month and will be next as I have only just tried to get things organised and my stupid car has had to have money spent on it this month!
I think if I can make my budget work I can afford my minimum repayments. But then I am panicking about the long term aswell - I will be stuck like this for years just making the min payments!
I am trying to get a second job but it's hard as I already work full time.
I'm finally taking control but I still feel very angry with myself for letting it get this far.....
Does anyone else feel like this?
I wish I could just turn the clock back to those 4 years ago when I took out a credit card.
I'm too ashamed to admit how much I have run up but it's 5 figures.
Sorry just felt like a rant...

You rant away, at one time or another we've all felt like this. We are all here down to our own stupidity but the good thing is that you've realised you've got a problem and you've come on here for help and support to get it sorted.
Is there any chance you can move any of your credit cards to 0% cards so that there'll be no interest added every month?
Welcome aboard.0 -
You are amongst friends here, and there is absolutely no need to be embarassed, there is always som-one worse off or more stupid! The road to recover means accepting how much you, being honest in the safe anonymous environment, and receive the help an support that you DO deserve. There is also support with regards to weight loss etc,but that is for later, we need to get you back on track. Re-consider, and post up your SOA. use the sticky at the beginning of the forum to help you. Then you will be overwhelmed with a new addiction - this site!!!unsecured Debts at [strike]August 2007 £79,984[/strike] September £79,579 [STRIKE]Snowballing date July 2013[/STRIKE].

You can beat yourself up if you want but I personally think you should focus all your attention and efforts into reducing the debt. Not getting angry.
We all make mistakes. !!!!!! happens.

Sadly no I can't shuffle. I can't get any more credit I think becuase of the huge amount I am already committed to. I have tried to apply for a couple of 0% cards and got declined and I have also tried to apply for topups on my existing loans and get declined!
I have a barclaycard which is 22.9% so I am trying to get them to give me a loan instead, I have written to them am waiting to hear back.
My virgin card is 17.9 so they are both high interest cards

Hey; know how it feels; but what someone said to me is to be glad you had your lightbulb moment now and not next year... could be worse.
Post up the State of Affairs (see sticky at top of boards then see link to SS's help for first time posters) and start debtbusting

Ooooh nasty rates. You must stop applying for more credit to repair your rating in a few months, and do your SOA, and if we can't help you enough consider writing to get reductions in interest rates.unsecured Debts at [strike]August 2007 £79,984[/strike] September £79,579 [STRIKE]Snowballing date July 2013[/STRIKE].

Just wanted to welcome you,
Well done admitting you have a problem and now is the time to deal with it.If you post a SOA listing your incomings and outgoings and writing the amounts of debt individually, including outstanding amount and APRs we may be able to help you find a solution.Without these figures we really can't advice on what your next step could be.0
