It seems from looking around these boards that it is fairly hit and miss. I have just been accepted for Capital One and Virgin, but got turned down by egg. Virgin gave me the best limit and it has the longest 0% deal at 15 months.
The other alternative is to ring up Halifax and see what LOB deal they will give you to keep the debt with them, they may not offer you anything if it is only £500, but it saves a credit search if they say yes.
If you are turned down by one card, don't apply for another one from the same lender, ie if you are turned down by say MBNA don't apply for Virgin as MBNA is the lender for both and if one refuses you can be pretty sure the other will.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -
I used that calcualtor on moneysupermarkert (I think) which tells you which card is most likely to be accepted for your own circumastances.
For LOB it sad the Coop for me but I was turned down and for 0% it said Mint for which I was accepted.0
