Well, we are a bit in the middle of nowhere and dont have the choice of tradesmen that you do in a town or city. :) I think we pay more for travelling time than we do for actual labour costs.
My "joke" fell flat because Canucklehead has changed his/her location on their avatar, it used to say where they lived, as does mine.
I had to look it up and 15mm Cu pipe should be supported at 1.2m intervals horizontally (that's 4' in old money). Plastic pipe (Speedfit) at 300mm centres.

I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

Just wanted to say thanks steveandel for starting this thread and thanks to everyone else for the advice given.
We moved into our house in May so didn't have need to put on the heating. Now we have put the ch on its driving me bonkers  The master bedroom is above the downstairs loo which is next to the garage. The pipes come from the boiler (I think its the boiler) in the garage and enter the house in the space between the loo ceiling and the floor of the bedroom. The head end of the bed happens to be exactly where the pipes enter the house. As soon as the heating comes on the annoying tappy stupid noise starts. I really can't express how much it annoys me, especially when I want a lie in. I have to go and turn the heating off :rotfl:
Spoke to a carpenter friend and he also recommended the felt/hessian stuff to put around the pipe where it sits on the joist.
I keep reminding hubby to get the floor up and sort it. He says he doesn't know whats worse, the tapping or my nagging. I'm working harder on my nagging :D

This house was built by cowboys, the tapping is one of many bodges.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
