Know that MIssKJ...mine was off for a whole month and sadly I was really depressed..how bads that!!!...DH doesn't mind me being on here though so thats good
  • My OH thinks I am crazy, he doesn't get it (to be honest he doesn't get what it is to have debt) and how good it is to talk to people who understand. Now when I relay a story his first response is 'what on that strange forum thing you go on', I think he thinks it is a cult.

Makes me happy and helps me sort my debt so s*d him.:D

  • My OH is definately an MSE widow! He's been on days for the last few weeks, and can't believe how much time I spend on here - luckily he should be going back to nights next week, so I have free reign after 2000 each night!
Having said that, he is slowly coming round, and should be around on here himself in the next few days....

  • My OH hates me reading the forums, thinks that its turning me into a penny pincher....
  • I'm single so have no one to pass comment; but the more I spend time on here the less I spend!!! Simple. I no longer think 'I must have eyeshadow'. I think 'MSE MSE MSE'.

But I am worried; I like a guy and if things were to progress I wouldn't know how to tell him about the other man in my life ;)

my debts: less than this time last year....!
DFW Nerd Club #706I'm Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :D
  • My Husband works away, so I don't have anyone moaning at me, the people on the site give me great advice, laughs, company & sometimes bring me to tears:o people are so kind & caring for complete strangers, because they've been there & understand
When my Husband comes home, I try not to come on here so much, but I miss it:p I must say I'm obsessed with paying off my debt, saving pennies on everything, using every bit of food I buy, not wasting a thing, most non-MSE people are not obsessed in the way I am & I think they may think I'm slightly strange:D
Hubby doesn't mind he does ask how's your mate Martin.
Better to be obsessed with this site than blowing money!!
Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Married my best friend 15/4/16 :)
  • My DH doesnt mind as when Im on here he gets to play his wii in peace without me asking him to turn it off for the soaps! lol
  • Since I've found this site Martin is my hero. In fact I've got 3 heroes - Ray Mears as I would love to learn how to live off the land like him, then Gok Wan from How to Look Good Naked so I could look good whilst doing whatevever (although NOT naked!) And, Of Couse, Martin, so I would be saving money at the same time. WOW!!
My OH just groans when I'm on here again, although to be fair he appreciates how our finances are at last seeming to be getting on track. Tonight is the first time I've ever posted stuff and I can't believe how long I've been on. Everyone else has gone to bed already!
  • its really weird how it can change your life though. I thought was managing my debts, could have anything I wanted more or less. everyone was in debt, it was normal.

It wasn't until Mum went away last year and I tried repainting my room. there was just ENDLESS amounts of rubbish all pointless and needing shelving or cupboard to be buried in. it pretty much meant nothing to me. And what was really upsetting a few things that were really important to me just got lost.

then I found MSE. and wondered what the hell I had been doing. I was so ashamed I had wasted so much.

and now I spend every night on here for a couple of hours noting tips avoiding disasters and resisting temptations.

It seems so odd sometimes that I just expected to be in debt. I have to say not many people know I come on here, no one really knows the extent of my debt so no hassles about how much I witter on about it. and suddenly have all these money saving tips!!

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Green Dragon - tonight is my first time (for posting) too!! I've been reading on this site for yonks and i feel all nervous at posting - my god how sad.

But my OH is resigned to me being at the laptop all evening although he gets to play the wii so he's not too bothered!

I can honestly sit looking at the old style boards for hours..........
