Win £1,000 with your Council Tax or Business Rates Direct Debit

The Council has announced a new incentive to pay business rates and council tax by Direct Debit: £1000.
The ‘one grand reason to smile’ competition, launched at the start of the year, aims to encourage take up of the monthly Direct Debit service to reduce non-payments and administration time.
By setting up a Direct Debit users benefit from automatic payments, meaning no more queues or reminder letters. Plus, the Council offers six dates throughout the month to choose when the payment is made.
Names will be drawn at random from the Council’s database in March to announce the winners.
The winning business will have up to £,1000 credited to their business rates account, while the winning individual will receive £1,000 to spend on whatever they want. Two runners up will also receive prizes of £250.
Existing Direct Debit payers and anyone who sets up a DD by Friday 15 February will be entered into the prize draw.
To set up a Direct Debit, call Waltham Forest Direct on 020 8496 3000. Have your bank details to hand and you’ll be set up there and then. Alternatively, you can complete an online application form.
