seeing as i'm bargain-hunting right now, it's noticeable some of the UK and European commercial property funds are actually up over the last few weeks. maybe that market has turned. anyone thinking of investing?
the other tempter is a global banking shares fund (i'm wary of individual shares) given that the sector has taken such a hit. i'm considering Jupiter Financial Opps or New Star Global Financials.
my suspicion is it's too soon to make these calls, does anyone agree with me? or have any better ideas?

Have you looked at how much cash the manager of the Jupiter Fund has been holding recently? A good indication of the health of the sector.
With upwards of $300bn of toxic debt to be written off by US banks alone and the European Banks reporting to their regulator in May things are not going to get any better for Banks. The only financials who stand any chance of benefitting are Hedge Fund Managers (Man Group) and companies like ICAP who will do well if there is a lot of trading volume.Anything posted is not given as advice but to help with a discussion.0 -
I dont think we are far away now. Decembers srop was very severe and drops in January have been on valuations and not outflows for a lot of funds. Inflows are increasing as value is being seen but I am not sure January is the right time.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
