Cheap midweek break in the south east

My daughter & her boyfriend want to go away from 13th Feb to 15th Feb (2 nights), somewhere in the south east.
They were thinking of Brighton.
They have quite an expensive holiday booked for May, so they would love a cheapy for Feb.
Any ideas?
They are early 20's. He drives. They are not looking for clubbing or culture, maybe a bit of window shopping
I was looking for those £5 Travel Lodge cheap nights, but they are probably not on now?
