Plan A: Got the forms for Chelsea's fixed 6.90% bond but couldn't free up the money by the day they withdrew it.
Plan B: Rang A & L to open a 7.00% bond. Was told couldn't without an interview. Couldn't have a slot until tomorrow. Bond withdrawn 2 days before.
Plan C: Spent all day looking for next best bond that does allow withdrawal if required. Best is Chelsea at 6.50%. Download forms & have them ready to open bond tomorrow first thing.
Have just checked their site & the XXXXs have changed it to 6.25% because of those paniccing !!!!!! at the Fed.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

if i remember correctly fella had funds in icesave that he was thinking about putting in Chelsea 6.9% fix, moving the funds straight to Icesave 6.7% fix would save at least two periods of loss of interest, whilst moving money to another provider and moving it back out on maturity. :cool:0 -
Thanks for the replies
I would have gone for Icesave but their Ts&Cs say that you can't withdraw early under any circumstances & I'm not prepared to give up that control. Obviously I don't intend to cash in a bond early but I want to know that if I did want to I could, albeit at a loss of interest.
Having looked at ICICI I don't think they have the same restriction so I guess that is by far the best bond at the moment? Accordingly I shall start my application straightaway. Which means their offer should be withdrawn any time now....0 -
