HSBC credit card

I cleared my credit card in full! I then got a bill for £10-49 interest!
I rang the call centre, but after speaking to three people I could not make them understand that if you clear the full amount by the deadline there is no interest. The young lady at the local branch got it put right, but she had to speak to three or more people to get a result!
How many people have just paid this, not realising they are being ripped off? !!

So it wasn't partial interest from previous upto and including the due date, you've always paid the balance in full by the due date(s)?

  • If your previous payment wasn't also a full clear, but a partial payment, then you lose the interest free period and get charged interest on the balance until it is cleared. This interest will then show up on the statement following the full payment.

Interest will only not be accrued after two full balance clear payments.

If your previous payment was a also full clear, then you are correct, they were mistaken.
