claiming Income based JSA for periods of no work.

Options
Some advice here - I am currently regeristed with 2-3 Driving agency up here in sunny Lincolnshire and I havn't had work since the Jan 1st where I have been totally shafted by one agency :( - its now being nearly 4 weeks and my little money pot is starting to look a bit low (always keep some aside for things like this)

Now I have a chance of getting some work next week - not a ideal wage, but it pays the bills that need paying when they are due. Is it worth claim for 3 weeks JSA for the period that I am out of work that was no choice of my own?

Also does it matter if I have a lodger paying me £50 each week? and I am a HGV Driver try to pay off the debt :)

Many Thanks

You are unlikely to get your claim backdated. For the period you would need to show that you were looking for work, and that you had good reason for not claiming earlier. You do not appear to have good reason.

If you were claiming income based JSA the income from your lodger will be counted.
    Gone ... or have I?
