Bringing up this very old thread, because I would like to make a perfect copy of Pizza Express dough balls in my breadmaker... (it has setting for kneadling a dough).
Anyone can recommend a recipe that will be the closest to the Pizza Express balls please?0 -
I often have bits of dough leftover when i make pizza, they sound nice. Now i know what to do with it.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Oh I love dough balls. We always have them when going to PE. I love PE generally though:-) Not very OS, but I use vouchers from Tesco or deals they email me.
What is your recipe for the dough then please?0 -
I throw the balls ( made after 1st rising_)in a high sided tray ( foil if you want to throw it away) - and let it rise again slightly then before baking throw blobs of garlic butter in so the cooking dough soaks it up and the overall effect is much more what you get in ..for example - pizza hut..Fight Back - Be Happy0

I use my normal pizza dough. Roll into balls, dot them with garlic butter then bake for about 12 minutes. They always stay lovely and soft0

Sure internet searches are great but it seems not to matter how well rated they are, it's still a toss up whether or not it will work for me. I guess the people rating them are top notch bakers or liars maybe! lol
A recipe from a nice sensible English (none of that cups rubbish) money saving type would be great! :T0 -

500g Bread Flour
7g yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
350ml water
Put the flour in a large bowl, add the sugar and salt to one side, yeast to the other. Add the water and mix to form a soft dough, knead for about 10 mins then prove for an hour or so.0 -
