Broken DVD Recorder speech not in line with mouth movemnets

When I record with DVD's and play them back the speech isn't in line with the mouth movements. What's wrong?
My DVD recorder is a sony GX-210. I have tried eliminating the problem by using different make of discs and different speeds but it doesn't make a difference. If anyone could help me out i would be most appreciated. For example is there a factory reset button or anything that could be done? Also it isn't in the warrantry and I have had it fixed before because it wouldn't record over 2 hours!!!!
